Gunter Pauli is an innovator who is committed to turning dreams into vision and reality. Author of The Blue Economy, he is a champion of sustainable design and is often called “The Steve Jobs of sustainability”.
A charming, passionate, and persuasive speaker, Gunter has made it his life’s work to design new business models that work in harmony with the environment. He founded the ZERI Foundation – Zero Emissions Research & Initiatives to carry out this work gathering together a global network of creative minds dedicated to developing new projects. They currently have nearly 200 in action – including recycling coffee waste for mushroom farming, making biodegradable detergent from discarded citrus peel, and conversion of petrol stations into ‘charge stations’ for electric cars.
He is now back in Bali supporting the Race for Water Foundation, an organization that fights against plastic pollution of the oceans. Committed to a five year Odyssey (2017-2021), the ambassador vessel of the Foundation is going around the world to raise awareness about the impact of plastic waste on the marine environment and propose local solutions to this global problem, thanks to a machine that transforms plastic waste into electric energy: the BIOGREEN. The Race for Water ambassador vessel will be in Indonesia for two months with stopovers planned for Bali and Jakarta.
