When the solution becomes the problem – Henk van den Dikkenberg

Why are we falling back in bad behavior and aren’t we living our best lives. The mind usually takes the easy way out. The chosen result is direct and noticeable which is the strongest reinforcement to keep doing it this way. It takes another route to live our best lives. Knowing is’t enough we need new experiences to make that change.

Our brain isn’t very reliable when it is dealing with internal matters. The main focus is to control or avoid difficult emotions. The solutions it comes up with are more harming than the difficult emotions. This talk is about what we can do to tackle that and live the life you want to live.

I’m Henk van den Dikkenberg. I had 3 children at Greenschool and the last one will finish it next year. When I came to Bali suddenly I had a lot of time. I started studying psychology, buddhism and meditated to find answers about the human mind. Mostly because I got stuck in life once in a while. I wanted to know why. Relying to much on my mind has been part of that problem. Now I coach people and couples who are stuck in life or their relationship.
