What Would a Sexually-Healthy World Look Like? – Avara Yaron

My novel, Girl Submerged, is a woman’s journey of uncovering buried sexual trauma, healing in an intimate relationship, and her resulting spiritual awakening. Globally, we need to address widespread sexual abuse and, most importantly, discover pathways of transformation, in ourselves and in our culture.

A periodic shapeshifter, Avara Yaron has a film degree, spiritual counseling license, and has explored life as a painter, filmmaker, designer, counselor, group facilitator, retreat leader, chef, and nutritional educator.

For two decades Avara has had a romance with the island of Bali, initially as the manufacturing hub for her line of fine jewelry and handbags, later dreaming up two plant-based cafes. In the midst of all that food preparation, the Girl Submerged trilogy happily took over Avara’s life. Avara has written a food column for Inspired Bali magazine and was recently featured in the Ubud Writers Festival.
