Reciprocal Tower Challenge – Bamboo U

We will invite participants to be in a team of 3-5 people and provide them with enough equipment to build a simple, lightweight reciprocal tower. The challenge will be for them to figure out how to build it as a team and understand the principles behind this structural system, which is essential to holding up many of Green School’s structures.

Bamboo U was founded in 2016 in collaboration with IBUKU by Orin Hardy and Maria Farrugia. The intention is to share unique design and construction knowledge with a growing international audience, as well as to inspire people to explore alternative ways of building. We believe that in a resource-intensive modern era, sustainability should be at the heart of our creative processes. A new generation of designers, architects, and engineers are striving to reconnect their expertise to Nature by combining tradition with innovation, theory with practice, and sustainability with durability. Our aim is to teach them to design beautiful and functional natural buildings.

The Venue will be at the Bamboo U campus on the other side of the river. Meet up at The Bridge at 8.45 am and we will walk together.

This workshop is OPEN & FREE to all parents.
