NATURE WEEK – Experience Bali Outdoors – Camping Jalan Jalan

Nature week is all about celebrating and finding a better connection with our environment. Along with OMunity camping, The Bridge has organized a clean, pure and peaceful weekend experience that will take us on a journey into one of the most authentically preserved areas of Bali. Here we will get the chance to develop a stronger connection with nature, Balinese culture and one another. This will be an amazing opportunity for those who like to spend time in the great outdoors, trekking through expansive rice fields, stumbling upon majestic waterfalls and simply being at peace.

About OMunity, a center of cross-cultural awareness

Zanzan, a passionate, ambitious and creative ex-Green School parent, founded OMunity in 2010 after realizing that his call in life was to focus on the youth and community in his village of Sudaji instead of running a large hotel in Ubud. His mission became to provide a sustainable future for posterity: a world without plastic, dangerous chemicals, and toxic fertilizers, where humans and nature thrive in symbiosis, the way nature intended. By having Omunity serve as a center of cross-cultural awareness, Zanzan endeavors to create an exchange of ideas on life that will ultimately help uplift and empower the community of Sudaji.

OMunity goes back to the basics – what our ancestors understood and practiced – creating an environment where we as tourists can let our curiosity about a new culture drive us to learn more and discover its roots. Through tradition, language, food, and lifestyle, tourists can get to know a new culture without destroying Bali’s greatest asset: Mother Nature. OMunity seeks to educate and facilitate a cultural exchange between locals and visitors and to bridge the gap between environmental concerns and human interests through practical education and the involvement of Sudaji’s community. People from around the world have joined OMunity in order to experience first-hand real Balinese culture alongside the community of Sudaji, not against it or to nature’s detriment.

The Location: Peace and tranquility in Sudaji

Sudaji is a rare authentic and rustic gem located directly north of Ubud, untouched by tourism, surrounded by wildlife, farms, rice paddies, temples, and a bustling river perfect for rafting. Its residents are incredibly outgoing, curious, warm and friendly, and while staying loyal to the traditions of their ancestors. Sudaji is the home of the majestic Sekumpul waterfall; a seven-level cascade featuring an 81m and 108m twin waterfall. It is the tallest waterfall in Bali and claimed by many visitors to be the “Mother of all waterfalls in Bali”.

Eco-Friendly Accommodation

Camping for two nights will take place in the wilderness of nearby Sudaji, you will wake up and smell the crisp and clean fresh air coming off the rice fields, poke your head out of the tent and watch the clouds change color as the morning begins. At night, you’ll gather around the campfire and listen to each other storytell and reflect as colors fade into the evening. Tents, sleeping bags, and mats will be provided by OMunity.

• ceremony clothes for the Agni Hotra Fire Ceremony (preferably white)
