Green Stone Sharing Session 2023-24
September 25, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
As our graduates enter their final year we come together as a community to support the preparation for their Green Stone presentations in June.
The Bridge is hosting multiple meetings, and in each of them, 5 students will share their path, and their challenges, and we will have the opportunity to offer them guidance, suggestions, and most of all love and strength in such an important period of their lives.
A requirement for every Green School graduate is a capstone project, known as Green Stone. Green Stone is a year-long inquiry and process where students demonstrate a mastery of core skills and Green School skills. This can be a passion project, an area of interest, or a solution to a real-world problem. The Green Stone experience culminates in a 13-minute TED-style talk the week before graduation. It is a life-changing experience and prepares every student for their next adventure and arguably for the rest of their life. Green Stone is a process and an experience that not only develops skills but also provides a platform to demonstrate mastery of those skills.
Projects For This Day
Kavi – Bridging the generational gap: bringing loopy life stories to those who may need them
I am making a podcast! Don’t worry, it’s not another boring podcast about trying to seem smarter than you are. I’m actually letting my guests take the wheel while I ride shotgun. The podcast will be directed towards young people unsure of what to do with their lives. I will be interviewing mostly older people and/or people who have “made it” despite taking an unconventional life path, and how they managed to do it. There will also be a focus on well-being, dharma, and environmentalism.
Where do I need help? I feel I need help in the scripting and conversational aspects. I need to develop the techniques to interview some intimidating guests.

Charles – Swim-IN-aid
My Green Stone project involves working with Swimdo, a non-profit organization that provides swim lessons to local people around Indonesia. Together, we are going to create an opportunity for local kids and boatmen in Rote, Indonesia to learn how to swim and about ocean safety. We have a goal of teaching the whole island how to swim and for the next generations to come. Multiple resorts in Rote are willing to support this project and goal.
Where do I need help? Partnering with organizations in Rote and Bali to support this effort.
.
Dipta – LIQUIFY
LIQUIFY is a self-sufficient initiative directed towards providing innovative water solutions, educating youth about the global water crisis, upcycling waste fabric into merchandise, and raising awareness about the global water crisis through the news, social media, and presentations. We aim to Educate, Innovate, and Empower, creating ripple effects of change sip by sip.
Where do I need help? Creating a road map and sustainable business model for liquify.
.
Leo – Saving The Planet’s Lung
Coral restoration is central to my project and I will be in collaboration with Livingseas in Padang Bai.
Where do I need help? I will need some help to structure the project and have new connections, maybe some sponsors.

Sasi – A Journey of Change and Compassion- Understanding Lombok’s Cart Horse Culture
I have been around and working with horses for 14 years now and when I went on a trip to Lombok earlier this year I noticed the seeming lack of care for many of the cart horses, I know that the solution to this is not to stop it as a whole as the industry has been around for years and is a way of life for many locals and so we need to find a solution instead. I am still not 100% sure what I want my end goal to look like but I do know that I want to make a change and a difference. I am also hoping to work alongside “Horses of Gili”, an already-known organization working with local ponies on the Gili Islands.
This session is at The Bridge, but we will Live Stream it also.
