As our graduates enter their final semester we come together as a community to support the preparation for their Green Stone presentations in June.
The Bridge is hosting multiple meetings, and in each of them, 4 students will share their path, their challenges and we will have the opportunity to offer them guidance, suggestions, and most of all love and strength in such an important period of their lives.
A requirement for every Green School graduate is a capstone project, known as Green Stone. Green Stone is a year-long inquiry and process where students demonstrate a mastery of core skills and Green School skills. This can be a passion project, an area of interest, or a solution to a real-world problem. The Green Stone experience culminates in a 13-minute TED-style talk the week before graduation. It is a life-changing experience and prepares every student for their next adventure and arguably for the rest of their life. Green Stone is a process and an experience that not only develops skills but also provides a platform to demonstrate mastery of those skills.

PROJECTS FOR THIS DAY
The Inspired Word – Stetson Prebble
I am writing 5,000 words every week, on a topic of my choosing. The overall theme of my project is identifying passion and exploring it, although due to the open-ended nature of my project I am flexible in what direction I can take it. Such a fickle force is fundamentally elusive, and I seek to deepen my personal understanding of the subject. I may shift it in a direction that suits me, but that is my current topic.
Where do I need help?: Generating passion. The current state of my project is that it is something I am doing until I come up with a new idea. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
How many steps does it take to get to heaven? – Camille Langotsky
My Greenstone focuses on Mental Health in society, how we perceive it/how our stigma has changed over the years – the past decade notably, and my own experiences. My research will be presented in 3 ways, teaching, music, and literature. My main project is the outline of a book about a schizophrenic girl, and it follows her while she struggles to decipher what is real and what’s only in her head—3 songs, written and produced, each about a different form of mental disorder. The final portion of my Greenstone will be about sharing what I have learned through a class taught in Block 5 – discussing a book (Everything Here Is Beautiful) and discussing mental health in society, what we think mental health is, and more. Students will present what they learned in the form of creative projects.
Where do I need help?: I need help most in fact-checking my work, making sure my writing is appropriate (mindful of the sensitive topic – mental health)
