Raising bi- or multilingual children is both a gift and a responsibility. In this session, pak Ben G5, ibu Devy (EAL), ibu Nina, and ibu Martine will explore how home language supports identity, cognitive development, and academic success. We’ll clarify key terms, reflect on common challenges in international families, and share intentional yet manageable ways to support multilingual growth at home.
Language builds connection. Through home language, children deepen relationships with parents, grandparents, and community — strengthening identity and emotional resilience.
Strong roots support wider growth. A solid foundation in the first language supports cognitive flexibility, additional language learning, and academic development.

Intentionality creates sustainability. Small, consistent choices (such as clear family language patterns and natural moments of use) make multilingualism manageable and meaningful.
Multilingualism is a shared journey. Raising bilingual children is not about perfection, but about conscious choices, reflection, and connection within your family.
