Farting Camels, Castrating the Ego, Being Raped by Ghosts and Happy Viruses… Hafiz is Back! – Guy Mullens
February 21, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Through his magical and straightforward poems, Hafiz tells us to stop being so religious. He tells us to stop pretending. He tells us to stand up. Stand up from what? Stand up from our desks, our offices, from behind our laptops, our scooters, from Bikram yoga classes and from the search for the meaning of life. He tells us to stand up from watching Netflix, from decorating Christmas trees, from eating Big Macs and raw food salads.
From a distant past, Hafiz returns from the grave and tells us to stand up from these busyings, even if only for a short while, and start feeling. To start experiencing the wonders of what being truly alive can mean.
During this talk, Guy will recite poems sung by the 14th-century Persian mystic, Hafiz. This time, however, besides instant classics like “Forgiveness is the Cash”, “The Subject Tonight is Love” and “Find a Better Job”, Guy will give a few ballads a go as well. As Chris wrote after the last talk “It was different and beautiful. We all agreed we could have sat for another hour”. Leave your worries at the door and get ready to be enchanted.
