Building Regenerative Solutions for Bali from the ground up – Women’s Earth Alliance Indonesia

Women’s Earth Alliance Indonesia and its Grassroots leaders will share their work in building regenerative solutions for Bali from the ground up. We will meet with Saniy Amalia (Women’s Earth Alliance Indonesia), Tasya Karisa the Co-founder of Biorock Indonesia, Aniek Puspawardani the Community Leader of Kelecung Village, and Audria Evelinn the Founder of Little Spoon Farm to discuss about their work in Bali.
Saniy Amalia – Chairperson of Pratisara Bumi Foundation
Women’s Earth Alliance (WEA) Indonesia catalyzes women-led, grassroots solutions to protect our environment and strengthen communities from the inside out. Saniy Amalia is the Chairperson of Pratisara Bumi Foundation, a non-profit organization that implement WEA Indonesia Accelerator Program.
Aniek Puspawardani – Founder of Klecung Village Project
Putu Ayu Aniek is a community organizer from Bali, Indonesia. She is the project lead for Kelecung Kelod Tourism. As international investors acquire large portions of her homeland, Aniek is mitigating the loss of livelihood in her community by empowering women with skills and tools to create ecologically resilient businesses. Tourism can be a threat to the local community if it is not driven by local sustainable practices, but Aniek chooses to embrace the thriving tourism opportunities to empower the women and children in her community. She brings a new approach to tourism that preserves the culture and wisdom of the local people and the natural resources that they depend on in order to continue and promote their traditional and sustainable lifestyle. Her biggest motivation is to ensure our next generation still owns the land and leads prosperous, sustainable lives.
Tasya Karissa – Executive Director and Co-Founder of Biorock Indonesia
Prawita Tasya Karissa is a coral reef restoration expert from Bali, Indonesia. Tasya is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Biorock Indonesia, based in Bali. She has been involved with Biorock since 2003, a technology that creates artificial coral reefs from the accumulation of minerals, after receiving the opportunity to study Biorock technology with the inventors, Prof. Wolf Hilbertz and Dr. Tom Goreau.
Audria Evelinn – The Founder of Little Spoon Farm
Experienced Founder with a demonstrated history of working in the farming industry. Skilled in Sustainability, Community Outreach, Project Management, Sustainable Agriculture, and Social Entrepreneurship. Strong professional with a Bachelor of Arts – BA focused in Environmental Studies, Urban Sustainability focus from Seattle University. Received in depth trainings from Stone Barns Center, NY. Growing Power, Milwaukee, & City Soil Farm, Seattle, US as centers of regenerative agricultural philosophies and applications in communities. Five years of working with local farmers in various parts of East Indonesian unique food rich islands as a farmer & continuously discovering precious local heritage crops.
