Voices 2024

Dear Community,

Thank you for supporting the VOICES performance, “A collection of performance pieces amplifying voices of strength and survival related to gender-based violence.”

This is the eighth annual evening theatre production with performances by high school students, teachers, and parents.

The performance starts at 6 pm sharp.

Doors Open at 5 pm. Please arrive no later than 5.30 pm to allow for check-in and settling at the performance venue.

• The event is ticket-only. At check-in time, please provide your name from your ticket purchase. Please check-in at the desk and our team will check off your name from the guest list. The check-in entrance is at POS1.
• Please note that extra guests are not possible. Only those who have pre-purchased tickets and have names on the list are able to join the performance.
• Children below Grade 8 level are not permitted to attend this event. Grade 8 students must be accompanied by a parent. High School students and all parent community members are welcome.

Coming to Campus in the Evening—Important Notes to Read Through

Parking & Where to go 

• Please park in Lot B and then proceed to the check-in desk at the Visitors Gate.
• Guests will be directed at check-in on where to go- dinner and refreshments will be served in the Green Warung area adjacent to the performance space- the Sangkep.

What to Bring & What to Wear

• Bring a torch for the walk back up to the entrance and car park in the dark.
• Refillable Water bottle, mosquito repellant, an extra cushion for sitting (if you need it), and an umbrella/raincoat in case of rain!
• Cash – the Foundations that we are supporting will be there to share some things for sale and to donate, and of course, you can purchase Voices t-shirts at the venue.

Food & Refreshments 

• Dinner & Show tickets are available which directly support Ibu Sari and the PKP Community.
• Please allow extra time if you plan on eating before the performance, and note that no food can be brought into the performance space with you but can be consumed in the Green Warung area (adjacent to the performance space) before we start the performance at 6 pm.

Reminder – Ages 14+ Only

• Due to the sensitive nature of the performance, there are no children under 12 allowed in the performance.
• We are not able to offer childcare or babysitting options during the performance.

Photos & Video

Please be aware that the Voices performances contain sensitive content both in topics and sometimes in the personalization of content to authors and performers. For this reason, please ensure any photographs or videos are for your own personal use and not shared broadly on social media or in any other forum.  Also ask the performer if they consent to the sharing of their performance. When in doubt, just share with friends and family. Thank you for your understanding!

Founded by a Green School parent inspired by past GS VDay collaborations, the Bali Street Mums Project aims to end the cycle of impoverished mums, begging children, and human trafficking in Bali. The project takes a holistic approach, providing safe housing/food, counseling, education, and economic opportunities for mums and children at risk. https://balistreetmums.org/

PKP Women’s Centre

The PKP Women’s Centre has an overall goal to facilitate female empowerment and gender equality for Balinese women and girls in the local area. The center empowers women by facilitating job skills training and support programs like cooking and English class. But most importantly, the women’s center provides a safe haven for divorced women who are generally highly stigmatized and ostracized in the community. https://pkpwomenscentre.wordpress.com/
