The Gianyar Material Recovery Partnership (Recycling for 600,000 +) – Sean Nino
February 8, 2022 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
In Bali, the capacity of landfills is limited, waste and materials often must travel far, there is a large amount of illegal burning, dumping, and leakage of plastics into the environment. The MPH Circular approach (www.mph-bali.org) builds community-owned material management facilities, we help enforce separation, build and operate and handover infrastructure that is capable of reducing waste to landfill by 90%, reduces methane and GHG emissions, and reduces plastic from leaking into the environment. We are scaling to 300 + tonnes/ day. That is more than 75,000 CBM/ day. How much volume fits into the heart of school?
Sean Nino has a passion for continuously learning from others and enjoys working around the topics of energy, water, and waste and within the field of sustainable building and development. Currently, he is focused on growing and expanding the Mantra team and their environmental engineering capabilities and raising private investment for material and waste management infrastructure.
