Pechakucha Evening Leap of Faith – Tales, Tidbits and a Tipple
November 20, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

You’re going to love this! Our next brilliant Pechakucha evening is coming up on 20 November, from 5pm to 8pm, and we are ready to share the line-up of superstar storytellers.
‘Leap of Faith’ – taking risks, trusting instincts, or making bold decisions.
Three stories from three different storytellers will be gently threaded together under the theme, ‘Leap of Faith’. Luke Jansen (GSB parent), Anna Nova (GSB parent) and Daan Van Rooijen (Grade 12 student) will be our storytellers. Book your seat now so you don’t miss out!
The event is inspired by the Pechakucha format, where stories are shared through 20 images, each image auto-advancing after 20 seconds. Join us as our storytellers bring their personalities to the format and take us on a journey to places unknown.
This event is free, but you need to register so we get the set-up and seating right. Please register by quickly filling out the short form HERE.
Food and drinks will be available to purchase throughout the evening, so bring some cash to enjoy the tidbits and a tipple of something yummy. While the new Living Bridge construction is underway, we will be turning on the fairy lights in Heart of School as the location for this special event.
“Sometimes, your only available transportation is a leap of faith.” Margaret Shepherd
The Speakers:
Luke Jansen—Luke’s family of five came to Green School for one year, seven years ago. He built and sold a company and now invests in purpose-driven startups. He shares this knowledge with a high school, Jalan Jalan, teaching them eco-entrepreneurship. He is also the author of the unofficial green school guide and the unofficial green school song and the world whistling champion!
Daan Martinus Jacco Van Rooijen—I’m a Grade 12 student with a lifelong passion for sports, especially football, which has been part of my life since I could kick a ball. I love being part of a team but also find happiness and freedom surfing the waves. Whether on the field or in the ocean, I’m always eager to push myself, build skills, and connect with others to discover what I can achieve.
Anna Nova is a mother, yoga and mindfulness teacher. Her background in Rocket Science launched her into spaces beyond the usual realm. With an analytical head on her shoulders, Anna has been on a journey of discovery from ancient wisdoms and practices, to philosophy and holistic healing. From the UK to the Galapagos Islands, from India to Spain, from Portugal to Russia, Anna is a global teacher and learner, collecting life-changing experiences every step of the way.
