A dark moon, a broken temple, a fallen guru, these are the archetypes that emerged on our recent sacred journey to Indonesia. Along with these symbols also came a message of hope, the light of a new day, our innate unwavering capacity to heal, and the birth of our inner guru. Come and listen to Buddhist psychotherapist Dr. Miles Neale as he shares stories and life lessons from pilgrimage that can help us navigate the journey of our complex lives with greater meaning and purpose.

Dr. Miles is a Buddhist psychotherapist, founder of The Gradual Path dharma community, author of Gradual Awakening, and co-editor of Advances in Contemplative Psychotherapy. His new book Return with Elixir: Pilgrimage of the Soul through Death and Rebirth releases in 2024 integrates Joseph Campbell’s mythopoetics, Carl Jung’s shadow-work, and Tibetan Buddhist Alchemy. For the past twenty-five years, Miles has taught psychology and meditation at university hospitals including Harvard, Columbia, and Cornell as well as the Tibet House, US.
