SUMMARY:Greenstone - Crossing The Bridge 2024-25
DESCRIPTION:It’s time for our Grade 12 students to step into The Bridge\, and time for us to step into a little bit of magic. Over 4-5 sessions\, our Grade 12 students will introduce their Greenstone project to the parent community. This is your chance to discover what they are up to\, ask questions\, give suggestions and offer support. \n~ This is a highlight on The Bridge calendar and a uniquely Green School moment ~ \nExpect to see some trailblazing ideas\, unique perspectives\, fresh thinking and creative solutions. It’s fresh. It’s fabulous. It’s not to be missed! \nYour presence and support mean the world to them\, so come along and connect with the people and projects of Greenstone 2024-25. \nSee you there! \n  \nProjects For This Day \nMarius – Scary Things\n \nAre you ready to uncover the darkest corners of your mind? If you are\, then join me\, Marius\, to hear my Green Stone \nWhere do I need help? Interviews – Taking a video of it\, getting the equipment ready\, etc. \n  \nIris – The Last Octave\n\nMy Greenstone intends to help people discover the power of binaural beats. Im using the vehicle of music to tranform YOUR lives. I will create an album that incorporates binaural beats\, featuring local and Western musicians of all ages\, to bridge the gap between animals\, music\, and humans. \nWhere do I need help? I need musicians\, guitar teacher\, specialists in the fields of music therapy\, sound\, and healing. \nDaan – Cutback Surf\n\nDo you love the ocean but worry about the impact surfing has on our environment bit also on our safety in the water? I did too\, and after a life-changing event\, I decided to take action. Join me\, Daan van Rooijen\, to hear about my Greenstone project\, Cutback surf. \nWhere do I need help? I need expertise and network to make more prototypes of surfboards and especially for helmets. The funding I need for this is 12 M Rupia. Including creating prototypes for both surfboard and helmets. \nNate – Carbon to Ink; Ink for Art\n \nOne of our biggest environmental risks to human health\, yet we know so little about PM 2.5s. Help me spread awareness next Friday\, September 13 at the bridge. \nWhere do I need help? Areas of Expertise: sourcing pm 2.5 waste\, artists interested in commissioning work\, researchers familiar with clean air initiatives\, background in working with solvents/emulsifiers\, and catalytic converter maintenance. \n  \nLouis – Equal Energy\n\nHelping to fight energy poverty\, with renewable energy. \nWhere do I need help? To move forward with this project\, the main thing we need is the necessary funding to bring it to fruition. \n  \nCharlie– Landscapes for Nature\n\nThe endless possibilities\, angles\, focal points\, and lighting that nature offers is truly vast and in many ways overlooked. Through my photography I aim to capture and share these moments with people\, to express just how special they are. \nWhere do I need help? My main mentor is going to be my dad as he will most likely be accompanying me on my photography trips. However\, it would be super helpful to be in contact with somebody who has experience in printing books featuring photography and possibly publishing as well. I also will need to\, once I’ve decided on my main topic or subject/s\, explore how I plan on recording audio and whether I will need specialized recording setups. \n  \nThis talk is happening but we will Livestream it also.\nLINK TO THE CALL
