As our graduates enter their final year we come together as a community to support the preparation for their Green Stone presentations in June.

The Bridge is hosting multiple meetings, and in each of them, 4 students will share their path, and their challenges, and we will have the opportunity to offer them guidance, suggestions, and most of all love and strength in such an important period of their lives.

A requirement for every Green School graduate is a capstone project, known as Green Stone. Green Stone is a year-long inquiry and process where students demonstrate a mastery of core skills and Green School skills. This can be a passion project, an area of interest, or a solution to a real-world problem. The Green Stone experience culminates in a 13-minute TED-style talk the week before graduation. It is a life-changing experience and prepares every student for their next adventure and arguably for the rest of their life. Green Stone is a process and an experience that not only develops skills but also provides a platform to demonstrate mastery of those skills.

Belle – Only Human: A unique perspective on kindness
What makes someone kind? Do you define yourself as kind because you believe you are kind- or because others tell you that you’re kind? Are you kind to myself? Does being kind to yourself mean you’re being selfish- does that make selfishness kind? Would you still be kind if you didn’t know what kindness was? What is Kindness to you? Much like love, kindness has been stereotyped and shoved into a little box of what other people think kindness is. But in reality, kindness can be portrayed in many different ways- and I’m sure that everyone has a unique and interesting perspective on kindness. This project is about amplifying kindness, gaining perspective on kindness, and creating an educational resource on it.

Avell – Art For Everyone
Originally my Green Stone was going to teach high school/middle school students how to express themselves with art. But then I heard a lot of people saying that they can’t do art. That is not true because art is everything. So I will be showing them a bunch of different forms of art every day and if they like that form of art then they can continue using it for the rest of the block, but if they don’t then they can continue trying something new. During this time they can learn how to put their emotions into art.

Where do I need help? If anyone is an artist or a dancer or literally anything I would love to have you volunteer for my green stone and come in one day and teach a class about your art and how you express yourself with it.

Kaleo – Humans of Bali
I’m creating a collection of stories from people around Bali sharing them on a digital platform for others to read and be inspired by. I’d like to connect with local communities and share stories of people helping others in need and also participating to help out wherever I can. I’m thinking of exploring themes such as kindness, homelessness, elders of Bali, etc. I’d also like to explore the possibility of sharing the stories in other ways such as a coffee table book, documentary, exhibition…

Clem – Tiny/Eco house project! (Minuscule Mansions Pt 2)
Building an affordable off-grid, eco tiny house with the intention of posing a possible solution for the housing and climate crisis, and for those who not only want to live a green lifestyle but also to be able to afford a home.
