Every person has a story to tell, though they don’t always get the chance to tell them. On this night, we’re leaving it better off said, with four fabulous storytellers ready to share their tales. In the line-up, we have (Manan, Lianne, Jim, and Amalia). No slides, no script, just the magic of words.
Get ready for a wonderful night of storytelling and conversation, with delicious food offered by Soogi Roll and a cocktail bar run by the Bridge to keep the drinks flowing.
Tonight there will be some familiar faces and some unfamiliar, joining our GS community for one night. Don’t miss the chance to hear their stories! And who knows? Maybe you’ll end up on that stage by the end of the night, sharing your story.
Please register for this free event to support our Grade 12 student Seda’s Greenstone! Throughout this year, Seda will organize storytelling events to bridge connections between people of all ages and spread the power of storytelling.

Pak Jim Faherty is the high school pathways counselor at Green School Bali, and since 2005 has been working in different education roles all across Asia. Originally from the UK, he struggled within the strict, conservative atmosphere of a British grammar school, and was “asked to leave” (read: kicked out) at the end of Grade 11. Thus, he vowed to never follow in his parents’ career footsteps and work in education (they were both teachers). It therefore came as a great surprise to him when, at the tender age of 20, he boarded a plane to China and began working as an English teacher. But that decision would set him on a trajectory that would define the rest of his entire life!
Pak Jim loves being a pathways counselor and takes great joy in helping his students explore the vast world of opportunity and excitement. In 2024 he was awarded the ‘Counsellor of the Year: Southeast Asia’ award from Times Higher Education, and if you visit his Pathways Yurt in Green School, you will see the glass trophy proudly on display (and covered in gecko poop!)
Amalia Bermudez, she is a student at Green School currently in 12 grade. She was born in Colombia and raised in Brazil and Colombia. Through her Green Stone, she connected with refugees in Jakarta, her experience was life-changing.
