Conscious Parenting: A Mind Shift towards Connection – Arleen

Conscious Parenting is a new way to view our children, each other, and ourselves. We will discuss why integrating its ideas into our daily lives is the greatest challenge. My lived experiences and learnings will be shared to help connect the dots between our thinking brains and our feeling hearts.
Arleen Tyndall is a clinical HIV pharmacist from Vancouver, Canada. During 27 years of patient care, she spent 10 years on the frontline in the city’s infamous Downtown Eastside. This is the same community where Dr. Gabor Mate honed his compassionate inquiry for people suffering from severe trauma, mental health, poverty, and addictions. Trauma-informed care became a professional necessity to create connections with patients to encourage healthcare engagement. Over the years, she realized that this practice overlapped with her self-study of Conscious Parenting helping her to change the dynamics in her own family..
