Calling for Parents! Ogoh-ogoh making
February 27, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Bali is going to celebrate Nyepi, a Balinese “Day of Silence”. On Nyepi Eve, there will be Ogoh-ogoh festival.
Ogoh-Ogoh are statues built for the Ngerupuk parade, which takes place on the eve of Nyepi day in Bali—A New Year Celebration in Bali based on the Saka calendar.
Ogoh-Ogoh normally takes the form of mythological beings, mostly demons, representing the Bhuta-Kala.
The main purpose of the making of Ogoh-Ogoh is the purification of the natural environment of any spiritual pollutants emitted from the activities of living beings (especially humans).
Philosophically, civilized men are required to manage natural resources without damaging the environment itself.
Join the Balinese parents to create the Ogoh-ogoh starting on 27 February every Monday-Wednesday at 1:00 – 2:30 pm for 10 days at The Bridge and get ready for the Green School Ogoh-ogoh Parade on 17th March 2023.
