4XampL eXistential Trip Out Film, Trivia & Chat Night

An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until May 25, 2021
This community group activity invites young adults (15+) to come out to see classic films where existential crisis and strong character are at the heart of art. Taking the audience on a ride into the depths of human struggle these filmmakers have used their passion to present us with a special story and characters that we can feel. To get us in the mood there is an informal trivia quiz before the movie and special screenings by community artists and young people. Plus, at the end of the show there is a popcorn style chat led by Zach to bring out feelings and impressions of the film.
The after-screening chats have been a powerful testament to our community’s intention to share, heal, reconcile and grow. Thelma & Louise (April 20) and Malcolm X (April 27) both had over 20 people in a conversation of exchanging feelings and ideas that lasted over one hour and left participants and those who just listened with deep impressions. Please join us to expand the conversation and offer your unique perspective.
So far we have seen the #warrior (Mad Max 2) the #prisoner (Shawshank Redemption) the #rebels (Thelma & Louise) and the #revolutionary (Malcolm X)!
